Our female teachers are certified Huffaz and Alimahs who teach sisters and children one-to-one. Requesting a female teacher costs nothing extra and can be done at any point, including after you have already enrolled.
Overview
A teacher chosen for comfort as well as qualification
For many sisters, the availability of a qualified female teacher is not a preference but the deciding factor in whether they study at all. We treat it that way. Female teachers are a permanent part of our staff rather than something arranged on request when someone insists, and the same applies to female teachers for young girls.
Every female teacher has completed Hifz or holds an Alimah qualification, has been tested on Tajweed by us directly, and has passed an observed teaching trial with a real student. The standard is identical to that applied to our male teachers — the only difference is who the student is matched with.
One-to-one matters here more than most people expect. Sisters returning to the Quran after years away are often self-conscious about how their recitation sounds, and a group class makes that worse. In a private lesson nobody else hears you practise, questions can be asked without an audience, and a teacher can spend three weeks on a single difficult letter without holding anyone up.
Mothers frequently study alongside their children, sometimes in the same family package. It is common for a mother to start Nazra with the same teacher who is teaching her daughter, which makes the household routine considerably easier to keep.
Vetting
How we select every teacher
Five stages, every applicant. Knowing the Quran and being able to teach it are different skills, so we test for both.

Hifz or Alimah qualification
Verified directly through recitation and assessment, not accepted on the basis of a certificate alone.

Tajweed examination
A formal test on makharij and the rules of recitation, assessed in practice rather than as memorised theory.

Teaching trial
An observed live lesson with a real student. Patience with young children is assessed specifically at this stage.

Background and references
Identity verification and references from previous institutions before any teacher is assigned, especially for classes with children.

Ongoing review
Teachers are reviewed on student progress and family feedback, with retraining where a student has stopped moving forward.

Are classes private?
Yes, one-to-one by default. Only you and your teacher are present. Family packages place two siblings together in one class if you choose that option.
Can I request a female teacher after already enrolling?
Yes, at any point and at no cost. Tell your coordinator and we will arrange the change.
What times are classes available?
Around the clock across time zones. School hours and after-school slots are the busiest for children, so book those further ahead.
Is there a free trial?
Three free classes, with no card details required. You meet the teacher and get an assessment before deciding.
